Hannah Montana Arrested: Former “Hannah Montana” actor Mitchel Musso was arrested on Saturday due to allegations of public intoxication and theft that stemmed from an argument.
Musso, who is most recognized for his portrayal of Oliver Oken in the Disney Channel sitcom, was apprehended by Rockwall, Texas police on Saturday night following reports of a disturbance at a nearby hotel. The Rockwall Police Department issued a press release detailing the incident.
According to authorities, police were called to the hotel after the 32-year-old actor, appearing to be under the influence, reportedly entered the premises and took a bag of chips without completing the payment. When asked to pay for the chips, Musso allegedly responded with verbal abuse before leaving without making the payment.
Rockwall police identified Musso outside the hotel, where he exhibited signs of intoxication. Consequently, he was arrested for two charges: public intoxication and theft of an item valued under $100. A subsequent background check revealed that Musso also had several unresolved traffic warrants.
Musso was transported to the Rockwall County Detention Center and spent a single night in custody. He was released on Sunday afternoon after posting a $1,000 bond.
USA TODAY has made an attempt to contact representatives of Musso for a statement on the matter.
Mitchel Musso co-starred in “Hannah Montana” alongside Miley Cyrus, Emily Osment, and Jason Earles from 2006 to 2011.
In 2016, Musso commemorated the sitcom and expressed his affection for his former castmates through an online tribute, coinciding with the show’s 10th anniversary.
Reflecting on that time, Musso shared on social media, “When I think of family, I think of you girls. Thank you for always being my best and for consistently having my back.”
