Harold Edward "Eddie" Goodhart
Harold Edward “Eddie” Goodhart, 79, of Rockport, Illinois, passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, at the Luther Manor in Hannibal, Mo., with his sister by his side.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at the Collier Funeral Home in Louisiana, Missouri. The Rev. Randall Cone will officiate. Burial will be at the Riverview Cemetery in Louisiana. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m.. until time of service at 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born on December 4, 1937, in Perry, Mo., to Bill and Bessie Krigbaum Goodhart. He was married to Nancy Ann Asquith on December 9, 1961, in Perry, Mo.. She preceded him in death on November 25, 2004.
He enjoyed spending time outdoors. He liked to fish and watch sports, and most of all liked playing different instruments, especially his guitar and writing songs. He loved country music, mostly old country. He worked at various jobs during his life, and retired from being a salesman for Kas Potato Chips Company after working there a number of years.
He is survived by his two sons, Darren Goodhart of St. Ann, Mo., and Scott Goodhart and family of Savannah, Georgia; his loving care giver and sister, Shirley Elliott; special friend Jack Spegal of Bowling Green, Mo.; a brother, Jimmy Goodhart of Jacksonville, Ill.; a sister in-law, Joan Moss of Paris, Mo.; and brother in-law Tom Asquith and wife Pam of Perry, Mo.; a sister in-law Clarita Goodhart of Hannibal, Mo.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy; his parents and parents-in-law; seven brothers, and three sisters.
