Snow Expected Overnight - Drive Slowly
HANNIBAL – While the largest amount of snow should occur south of I-70 overnight tonight, even a small amount of snow on roads in northeast Missouri could account for slick roads. Missouri Department of Transportation crews are ready to address the winter weather again, expecting more of the white stuff in the southern part of the district, specifically in the Pike, Audrain, Lincoln, Warren and Montgomery county areas. In addition, even after MoDOT plows have removed snow from the roads, with the temperature several degrees below freezing, there is a chance for black ice, especially on smaller roads, Wednesday morning.
Slow down. Allow plenty of time. And check forecast in your area to determine times and amounts of snowfall. To check road conditions, go to MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map at http://traveler.modot.org/map/. The map is also available as a free app for Apple and Android devices.
MoDOT also provides road condition information through its Customer Service Center. Dial 888-ASK-MODOT (888-275-6636) to speak with a customer service representative 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
