Take the Plunge Day Aimed at Helping Adult Students Start College
John Wood Community College wants to help adults “Take the Plunge” to start or continue their college education in the New Year. JWCC will host “Take the Plunge” January 3 from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
During the day, adults can drop in or make an appointment to fit their schedule to take action on various steps to go back to or continue college. JWCC admissions and academic advisors can answer questions, help students complete admission and financial aid applications, talk about new career options and complete registration processes. If prospective adult students can bring copies of high school or college transcripts and 2017 tax information, they may be able to complete most processes to enroll in upcoming classes.
“Adults have crazy schedules and sometimes they just need one day when they decide it’s time to ‘take the plunge’ and get things done. At this point in the year their children are back in school, so it’s a good time for them to do something for themselves,“ Kristen Ritterbusch, JWCC director of admissions said.
Course sessions for spring begin January 13, February 10 and March 16.
Appointments are encouraged, but not required and can be made by going to www.jwcc.edu/plunge or by calling JWCC admissions at 217.641.4337.
