Mark Twain FFA Members Attend National Convention

November 13, 2019

On October 30 fourteen members of the Mark Twain FFA and their sponsors, Mr. Dameron and Mrs. Blakely, traveled to Indianapolis for the National FFA Convention. The first night they got to see Old Dominion in concert. On Thursday they visited Fair Oaks Farm and visited each adventure barn, got to see a live birth from two dairy cows, and toured the dairy and the swine facilities.
On Friday members volunteered their time to participate in the National Day of Service program through National FFA. Members helped break down rooms at the Indiana State Fairgrounds by taking down CDE materials, tables, and chairs. Then they visited the Convention Expo and FFA mall. Afterwards they went to the 6th general session and heard the retiring address from the Central Region Vice President Ridge Hughbanks and guest speaker Michelle Poler.
On Saturday Mark Twain FFA had three members earn their American degree: Corbin Eckler, Stetson Klise, and Clayton Robinson. Stetson was able to make the trip to Indianapolis to walk across the stage.
