September 03, 2019

The United Way of the Mark Twain Area which serves Lewis, Marion, Monroe, Ralls, and Shelby Counties will kick off their 2019-20 United Way GIVE HOPE Campaign on Thursday, September 5th at the Rialto Theater in Downtown Hannibal with food and fun for the family from 5:30pm-8:00pm.
The Campaign Kick-Off is the formal beginning to the United Way’s Campaign season. This year’s $425,000 campaign, chaired by Justin Gibson of Hannibal, will give hope to over 35,000 individuals in our community.
For the past 80 years, the organization has hosted an annual campaign raising dollars in the community. Those dollars are immediately invested in local organizations that are working to empower individuals to achieve their potential through education, financial stability, and healthy lives.
This year AVENUES, CHART Teen Task Force, Douglass Community Services, Families and Communities Together (FACT), the Forget Me Not Senior Center, Hannibal Alliance for Youth Success (HAYS), Hannibal Free Clinic, Hannibal Parents as Teachers, Heartland Resources, Inc., Legal Services of Eastern Missouri, Learning Opportunities/Quality Works, Monroe City Food Bank, Monroe City Senior Nutrition

Center, Monroe City Student Success Center, NECAC, Paris Senior Center, The Salvation Army, Shelby County Senior Citizens, The Child Center, and The Hannibal YMCA will benefit from the campaign. In addition, Birthday Blessings and Friends of the Monroe City Library will receive funding from the Venture Grant fund.
United Way invites you to attend the kick-off event at the Rialto Theater in downtown Hannibal. Tickets can be purchased at the door - $10 per person, $25 per family. The admission cost includes all food that is served at the event and child friendly activities. All proceeds will benefit the GIVE HOPE Campaign.
