Two Weekend Drowning Victims Identified
Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that searchers recovered the body of a missing, 17-year old, on Saturday around 1:00 p.m. in Mark Twain Lake. Crews searched the waters around Ray Behrens Camp Ground Friday evening and returned on Saturday morning. The victim was identified as Kamerion Rice of Springfield Illinois. It was reported that he was wading near the shoreline and entered deeper water but was unable to swim.
The other drowning happened in a private pool in Center Missouri. The Ralls County Sheriff’s Department reported that the almost three-year old child was recovered on Sunday morning at 8:00 a.m. According to the Sheriff’s Department, the child was with a small group of children that entered a neighbor’s pool unaccompanied and unknown by the neighbor. That neighbor found the child and began CPR but the child was pronounced dead at the scene. Ralls County Coroner, Robert VanWinkle, identified the child as Jameson Williams, age 2, of Center, Missouri.
