Opening Day of Ralls County Junior Fair
The 2019 Ralls County Junior Fair opened last night in Center with Indoor Exhibit check-in and judging and Bacon and Ham check-in and judging at the Center Baptist Church. With the sale of the Center Elementary building, which is where the exhibits have been judged and displayed in the past, a new location had to be found and the Center Baptist Church opened their new building for the 4-H and FFA members to use.
The Indoor Exhibits will only be on display today, Friday. They will be removed by the exhibitors this afternoon.
On the schedule for today is the Swine Show, starting at 9am followed by the Goat and Sheep show at 1:00. The Beef show is tonight, starting at 6:30. All livestock shows are at the 4-H building next to the old Center School building, where they have been for the past many years.
Saturday’s schedule includes the County Shooting Sports Contest at KA-TONKA Game Preserve, south of New London. The Clover Kids Show is at 3:30, followed by the Rabbit and Poultry Shows. Kids Games are slated to run from 4p to 6p. The Cat Show and Dog Show will start at 5:30pm. The final event of the day is Fashion Revue at 6:30p. All of the events, except Shooting Sports, are located at the 4-H building at the old Center School building.
The Horse Show will be held on Sunday evening at 5:00 at Skyview Saddle Club, located on Rt T, east of New London.
