NECAC to Host Public Hearing
The not-for-profit North East Community Action Corporation (NECAC) will host a public hearing on its annual plan that is to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a contract compliance and requirement to receive contracted funding for the Section 8 Housing Rent-Assistance Program for residents of 11 counties.
The affected consolidated counties of the public housing agency are Lewis, Lincoln, Macon, Marion, Monroe, Montgomery, Pike, Rails, Randolph, Shelby and Warren, and are governed by the LCPHA 11-County Joint Housing Commission. The 11-member commission is made up of one county commissioner from each county.
The hearing is at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 22, at the NECAC Pike County Service Center, 805 Business Highway 61 North in Bowling Green.
The annual plan and public hearing are part of the contract requirements NECAC has with HUD and the 11-county joint commission, and describe NECAC's administration of the Section 8 program. NECAC has been contracting with HUD and the LCPHA 11-county Joint Housing Commission for more than 40 years to operate the program.
NECAC also has a separate contract with HUD and the St. Charles County government to administer the Section 8 program in that county.
More information is available by calling NECAC Section 8 Rent-Assistance Programs Director Dianna Clair at 573-324-2055.
