Dorothy Dee Hodges
The Family of Dorothy Dee Hodges, 89, of Perry will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. at Bienhoff Funeral Home in Perry on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Private family burial will be at Lick Creek Cemetery.
Mrs. Hodges passed away at 3:26 a.m. April 8, 2019, at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
She was born in Monroe County on January 29, 1930, the daughter of Ralph Russell and Leona Maud Armstrong Levings.
She was married to Marvin Henry Hodges in Perry on October 29, 1950, and he survives.
Other survivors include one son, Brian (Linda) Hodges of Perry; one son-in-law, Cory Ezell of Goznell, Ark.; four sisters, Mae Buckman of Shelbina, Caroll Lee (Garry) Divelbiss, of Lathrop, Joyce (Jim) Simpson of Larned, Kansas, and Lourena Simpson of Grandview; two brothers, Dean (Donna) Levings of Paris and Bobbie (Beverly) Levings of Centralia; five grandchildren, Samantha (Matt) Ellis of Memphis, Tenn., Kayla Duet of Austin, Ark., Zack (Athena) Ezell of Nashville, Tenn., Shelby Hodges and Erika Hodges, both of Perry; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Dianne Ezell; and four brothers, Charles Levings,
R.J. Levings, Glenn Levings and J.D. Levings.
Mrs. Hodges was a lifetime area resident and a 1947 graduate of Paris High School. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for AP Green Refractories for approximately 15 years before her retirement. She was a Christian by faith. She was a member of the Hutchison Extension Club and Eastern Star of both Perry and Paris. She was an avid reader, enjoyed dancing, camping, the Old Threshers Association, and was active with her family in Steam Engine meets.
