Two Bit Steve to Headline Big Bam Stop in Perry

March 27, 2019

The 2019 Big Bam (Bicycle Across Missouri) event is set for June 9th-14th. The 292.4-mile journey will pass through five cities including Perry. Perry will serve as the first host city and overnight stop for over 500 bicyclists from across the country. Perry is planning for a large crowd of bicyclists and their families.

Dustin Wasson, President of the Perry Community Betterment said, “the event will draw hundreds of new people to Perry and Mark Twain Lake to see our shops, eat at our restaurants and visit our local attractions.” Riders will arrive in Perry at approximately noon on Monday, June 10th. The riders will stay in a tent city at Bill Trower Memorial Park. Locally the event will feature great food, drinks, and live music at the park on June 10th. We encourage our citizens and neighbors to come and enjoy a great night of food, drinks and live music. The event is free and open to the public. We encourage our citizens to welcome these individuals to our town.

Headlining the first night entertainment will be the group Two Bit Steve. Two Bit Steve is a classic honky tonk band dishing out original songs and covers that'll keep the party going after our ride to Perry. The band features Joe Aguirre on Drums, Steve Andsager on rhythm guitar, John Galbaraith on lead guitar, Tim Overshiner on bass, and Katy Jo Neely on vocals. They've opened for alt-country giants like Pokey LaFarge and they're a staple in the mid-Missouri circuit.

The riders will leave early on Tuesday morning for Macon. The ride will take the bicyclist west from Perry through Mark Twain Lake and Paris.
