DRIVING IMPAIRED AFFECTS LIVES

Do you realize that your last drink could be someone else's last breath?

It’s time to Change the Numbers. If you’re planning a special celebration for the holidays, think first about a safe and sober ride home. Holiday safety advertising across Missouri serve as reminders of the importance of choosing a completely sober ride such as a taxi. Law enforcement will be out in full force December 15-January 1, cracking down on impaired drivers. Change the Numbers. Don’t let anyone drive impaired. Let’s change these numbers!

21% - The number of traffic crash fatalities in Missouri that involved impaired drivers in 2017.

198 – The number of people killed in traffic crashes involving at least one substance-impaired driver in 2017.

607 – the number of people seriously injured in traffic crashes involving at least one substance-impaired driver in 2017.

90 – the number of days your license can be suspended on your first impaired driving conviction.

6 – the number of months you can spend in jail for your first driving while impaired conviction.

1,000 – the dollar amount you can be fined for your second conviction for driving while impaired.
