Perry Musique Club Hosts Annual Spooktacular
The Perry Musique Club, MFMC, NFMC, met October 20 at South Fork Presbyterian Church, west of Perry. The prelude, "There Was an Old Woman," was sung by Debbie Carey. The Pledge of Allegiance, the singing of "The National Anthem" and reading of the Club Collect followed. Roll call was answered by six senior members.
Debbie Carey gave a brief orientation on the federated junior music clubs.
A Spooktacular program was presented, with seniors disguised as The Addams family and singing "The Addams Family Theme Song." Nine PMC Juniors, piano students of Liza Darr, and Patti Grimmett, performed solos in various costumes.
Addie Crain played "Spooks" and "Skeleton in My Closet." Callista Glascock played "A Frightful Night" and "Things That Go Bump in the Night." Miranda Billings played "The Happy Witch" and "This Is Halloween." Brooke Stroup performed "Indian War Chant" and "Cool Ghoul." Isaac Todd performed three solos: "The Gypsy Camp," "Mysterious Mountain," and "Spooky Footsteps." Lauren Smith played "Lightening Ranger" and "From a Wigwam." Jillian Weekley played "Witch on a Super-Speed Broom." Lucille Norton performed "Chopin's Halloween" and "That Halloween Cat." The program ended with Olive Norton playing "Ghost Waltz" and "Ghosts on the Run."
PMC will celebrate the NFMC "Parade of American Music" in November by attending the Dinner Theater at the Apron Cafe in Monroe City, the 16th or 17th.
